JOB DUTIES STATEMENTS:

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.       Directing and overseeing all nursing staff operations.

2.       Establishing unit and departmental goals, ensuring alignment to the organizational goals.

3.       Developing and revising policies and procedures, and protocols to improve the level of patient care and promote quality and safe evidence-based practices of nursing staff.

4.       Collaborating with other departments to ensure hospital efficiency.

5.       Keeping track of all expenditures and maintaining departmental budgets through timely and proper budget planning.

6.       Resolving any nursing-related problems as soon as they arise and being accessible to nurses when nursing leadership support is required.

7.       Developing staffing plans that assures patient care needs and staff well-being are met.

8.       Ensuring all record-keeping procedures and processes are accurate and up to date.

9.       Recruiting new nursing staff by conducting interviews and coordinating with the Human Capital Management Recruitment Team.

10.    Evaluating fair and just staff performance timely and overseeing timely and accurate completion of performance evaluation by the Nursing Unit Managers.

11.    Leading, facilitating, and supporting nursing-related activities to promote nursing staff engagement.

12.    Implementing new processes and procedures, ensuring nursing staff are provided with tools, training, and support for a successful result.

13.    Making high level decisions, considering the impact to the staff members and the hospital operations.

14.    Conducting regular rounds in all the units assigned to ensure that nursing staff are providing safe and quality patient care, based on standards and policies and procedures.

15.    Identifies key performance indicators of the assigned units, keeping track of the results, relaying results to the nursing staff, and preparing action plans with the Nursing Unit Managers to address results.

16.    Leading, coordinating, facilitating, and participating in assessing and developing the educational plan for the assigned units.

17.     Leading, coordinating, facilitating, and participating in process improvement projects.

18.     Preparing and conducting reports for the hospital administrators.

19.     Conducting regular staff meeting to communicate news, updates of the hospital operation, and celebrate success.

20.     Assessing practice environment of the assigned units for safety, compliance to regulatory requirements, and process or system improvement, and report, follow-up, and evaluate results.

21.     Counselling, educating, and reprimanding nursing staff when necessary.

22.     Referring staff for the need for further education to Magnet and Professional Development team, and developing an action plan for staff improvement plan.

23.     Referring staff for disciplinary action to Human Capital Management, and developing an action plan for staff performance or conduct at work.

24.     Conducting investigation, preparing reports, and coordinating with Human Capital Management for concerns related to staff performance and conduct at work.

25.     Conducting investigation, providing a feedback, developing action plans and recommendations to occurrence variance reports (OVR) related to the assigned areas.

26.     Participating, facilitating, and supervising research activities of the assigned units.

27.     Conducting and fostering peer review.

28.     Conducting and facilitating presentation, lectures, trainings, and workshops.

29.     Serving as staff advocate.

30.     Developing and training new leaders for the succession plan.

Demonstrates compassionate communication skills while providing support and care to the patients as “the patient is the center of our care”.

Other Job Functions:

1.       Perform all duties and tasks in line with the Person Centered Care values.

2.       Adherence to all policies, plans and programs within the Fakeeh Care.

3.       Perform duties as per the code of conduct requirement and ethical standards as outlined in the HCM policies and guidelines.

4.       Complete mandatory education as per the requirement at least one month prior to expiration.

5.       Maintain up to date knowledge on information relating to quality and safety, accreditation, policy management and document management systems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, and Master’s Degree preferred.

5 - 7 years of clinical nursing practice and 3 years nursing leadership role.

Excellent command of English language.  Arabic is a plus.

Valid Nursing Licensure from the Country of Origin, SCFHS, BLS
