Practices infection control measures based on Infection Control standards and policies and procedures.
Assists in maintaining hygienic needs of the patient.
Assists the geriatric/paralytic/ immobile patient to maintain the activities of daily living.
Promotes patient safety by understanding usage of personal protective equipment and taking precautions when dealing with patients on oxygen therapy.
Activates emergency codes and take appropriate actions in the event of medical and facility emergencies.
Applies proper body mechanics, performs patients positioning and lifting techniques.
Assists with the movement of dependent patients to and from beds, wheelchairs and or stretchers
Assists the movement of medical equipment used during transfer and transportation of patients between floors and units.
Transfers or accompanies stable, ambulatory patients or stable patients in wheelchairs between wards and departments with or without an escort based on the decision of the Unit Manager or Charge Nurse
Adheres to all DSFH policies and procedures.
Transfers or transports sick or unstable patients in bed or in wheelchairs between wards and departments in the company of a nurse or physician or both.
Acts as a courier for the transportation of specimens, medications, blood, equipment, paperwork, mail, reports and medical records between wards and units as required.
Assists with the completion of discharge paper works and to escorting discharged patients to the car in a wheelchair.
Completes all mandatory in-service training requirements
Adheres to all DSFMC policies and procedures
Participates in environmental checks and informs any areas of noncompliance with safety standards to the Unit Manager or Charge Nurse on duty.
Checks vacant room for admission readiness including linen, prayer mats or cleanliness.
Remains in the assigned area at all times unless engaged in work activities or with approval of the person in charge

High School Graduate
Experience:
0 – 2 Years’ experience required.
Language:
The ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English and ability to speak Arabic Preferred. Required Licenses: N/A
