JOB DUTIES STATEMENTS:

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.       Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of Fakeeh. Care

2.       Is knowledgeable of patient rights and ensures an atmosphere, which allows for the privacy, dignity and well-being of all patients and staff in a safe, secure environment.

3.       Confidentiality of all data related to patients and hospital operations.

4.       Cooperates and works together with all co-workers. Plan and complete job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.

5.       Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations at all times.

6.       Follows up as appropriate with supervisor, co-workers or patients regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.

7.       Completes requirements for in-service training, acceptable attendance in meetings, uniform and dress codes including personal hygiene and other work duties as assigned.

8.       Maintains accountability for controlled substances; inventory medications at the beginning and

end of the shift with another licensed nurse; notify nursing supervisor or Nurse Manager of any discrepancy.

9.       Ensuring the Medical and Nursing plan of care is carried out, clarifying any areas of uncertainty and in any dispute regarding clinical management, referring the matter to the appropriate consultant.

10.    Ensures that each crash cart has daily check completed and restocks the crash cart after each use immediately. Each must be completed and any deficiency must be reported immediately

11.    Ensures that all bedside nurses are aware of all protocols, procedures and policies as it relates to their practice on the unit.

12.    Provides direct patient care and on-going supervision of clinical care to ensure an effective hand-over of all duties and required information at shift changeover.

13.    Continuous follow-up of compliance by staff nurses to Infection Control Policies and Procedures.

14.    Maintains high performance of all equipment (monitor, ventilators, beds etc.).Initiates appropriate follow up on any equipment needing repair or has malfunctioned

15.    Arranges patient's movement through the bed placement coordinator for  new admission, transfers, transport and follow up regarding inpatient allocation

16.    Coordinates and monitors' activities of staff and all services related to patient care on the unit.

17.    Anticipates, identifies potential/actual problems and resolution of problems

18.    Ensures effective communication within the unit/ department between nursing staff, patients, and/or significant others along with all medical and allied health care personnel

19.    Coordinates nursing staff communication following up the organization chain of command for nursing notifications in their reports; Staff Nurse -- Charge Nurses -Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor, Nursing Service Director and CNO.

20.    Ensures the consistent/accurate preparation of nursing records. Monitoring Patient goals and the progress towards discharge

21.    Ability to coordinate and work in multicultural and multinational staff.

22.    Fosters collaborative harmonious relationships with colleagues and all members of the multidisciplinary team.

23.    Participates in shared-governance, decision-making structures and processes that establish standards of practice and address opportunities for improvement.

24.    Promotes continuous, consistent, efficient, and accountable delivery of nursing care using Professional Practice

25.    Model and appropriate care delivery system.

26.    Provides Exemplary professional practice evidenced by effective and efficient care services, inter-professional collaboration, and high-quality patient outcomes

27.    Participates in programs related to evidence-based practices and research programs and integrate evidence-based practice and research into clinical and operational processes

28.    Participates in professional development activities designed to improve their knowledge, skills, and/or practices in the workplace.

29.    Creates partnerships with patients and families to establish goals and plans for delivery of patient-centered care.

30.    Participates in recruitment and retention assessment and planning activities.

31.    Participates in the review, action planning, and evaluation of patient safety data at the unit level.

32.    Disseminates the organization’s nursing research findings to internal and external audiences

33.    Evaluates and use evidence-based findings in their practice.

34.    Participates in the design and implementation of technology to enhance the patient experience and nursing practice.

35.    Seeks assistance and escalates operational and clinical issues to nursing supervisor to resolve situations when needed.

36.    Assists in the training and development students, trainees, interns and fresh graduates.

37.    Demonstrates compassionate communication skills while providing support and care to the patients, as “the patient is the center of our care”.

Other Job Functions:

1.       Perform all duties and tasks in line with the Person Centered Care values.

2.       Adherence to all policies, plans and programs within the Fakeeh Care.

3.       Perform duties as per the code of conduct requirement and ethical standards as outlined in the HCM policies and guidelines.

4.       Complete mandatory education as per the requirement at least one month prior to expiration.

5.       Maintain up to date knowledge on information relating to quality and safety, accreditation, policy management and document management systems.

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Nursing Specialist with Bachelor of Science or a nursing First Technician with a

Diploma in Nursing. Current licensure from country of origin is essential

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years’ full time post registration nursing experience with one year as a charge in the same specialty desirable

Language:

Fluency in written and spoken English, Arabic language skills desirable.

Required Licenses:

License from the country of origin, SCFHS, MOH License, BLS, and other LSTC

courses as applicable
