Provide anesthesia services to patients, under the direct supervision of a licensed anesthesia care provider.
Cleans, Disinfects, Orders/stocks and maintains routine anesthesia equipment and supplies.
Maintain anesthesia medications, supplies and equipment according to needs and schedules.
Cleans, Organize and Maintain anesthesia workroom, supplies and equipment.
Prepare and maintain patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems pre, intra and post anesthesia and with consideration and knowledge of age-specific issues related to meeting the needs of the various patient group
Preparation for epidural, spinal and caudal anesthesia.
Preparation for central line and dialysis catheter insertions
Preparation for ultrasound guided nerve block and vascular access.
Perform basic trouble shooting for monitors and equipment and reports defective equipment and equipment malfunctions appropriately.
Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
Preparation, administration and monitoring of medications and I.V. fluids under direct supervision of licensed anesthesia care provider.
Assist in airway management using different away management’s tools.
Assist in the appropriate positioning of patients intraoperatively.
If responsible for monitoring of the patient’s physiological parameters and assistance in supportive or resuscitative measures, must be competent in at least: - Monitoring requirements - Response to complications. - Use of reversal agents - Recovery criteria
Promotes effective working relationships with anesthesia department staff and works collaboratively with RN team, Surgical Technicians, Service Technicians and Equipment Technicians
Monitor and report any issues related to safety in the immediate work area.
Demonstrates compassionatecommunication skills while providing support and care to the patients as “the patient is the center of our care”.
JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :
Education:
BSN-Diploma graduate with anesthesia technician qualification from institution or Bachelor nursing with structured training in anesthesia assistance
Experience:
2 years’ experience in Tertiary Care Center
Language:
Fluent in English. Fluency in Arabic also preferred Required Licenses: SCFHS, MOH License, BLS
